The old Key West has reinvented itself with excellent food and beverage offerings. From classic cocktails like the Negroni to craft beers, this place is here to stay. I love the Gumbo, the fried okra, and the Key lime pie. They make me feel like I am home in New Orleans, with a Key West accent and flair!

If you're going to poach cocktail recipes from another bar in the same town, at least change the name. Not cool.

The only thing that changed when Beak's became Buttler's is the name. Looks exactly the same. It is neat to see the knit knacks and old photographs, but can feel a bit busy. Yesterday I met with my coworkers there for happy hour. I didn't order any alcohol, but my friends found beers that they liked. I ordered their homemade chili and hush puppies. Chili was meaty, but very bland. I had to add hot sauce and salt to make it somewhat better. Hush puppies were small and just tasted like deep fried corn bread. No sauce. I don't know what I expected, but won't order either one again.

Our party of six arrived at 6:30 PM Friday 28 Aug 15 at 6:45 we ordered drinks and at 7:00 we received our drinks. My sweet tea was sour. We ordered our meals when the drinks arrived and at 7:45 we were told there was a "glitch" in the kitchen we needed to order our meals again. It wasn't crowded... maybe our waiter should have written down our order. One of our girls needed a straw and it was brought to the table unwrapped. 99 days to the real Key West for our party!!

Stopped for lunch with Family, waiter was very friendly but the food was very bland. I ordered the chicken cheese steak in a wrap, when it arrived it was on a bun. The chicken lacked salt with nacho cheese sauce drenching it. Wife ordered the salad which was fine.

We went here even though it had bad reviews and the service was very slow. We ordered a mixed drink that tasted like crappy liquor was in it and it had no flavor. I ordered the pineapple express burger and 30 mins later they came out and said they didn't have pineapples so I had to change my order I just got a bacon and cheese burger it was mediocre at best the bun was really gross I only ate a quarter of it. All in all I would not come back we spent 2 hours waiting on sent pretty shitty food.

Great place with indoor and outdoor seating! A nice menu selection and full bar. We go there often and yes there are new owners. Crystal and Mitch are awesome so this is a must try! Friendly staff and plenty of seating and it's in historic kenwood!

Very disappointed. We stopped in for a beer and appetizer. We decided on simple chips and salsa and some queso. It was like movie theater food. Low quality round cardboard-like chips, salsa was definitely from a jar and low grade, and the cheese was basically cheese-wiz. I would expect this in a movie theater where they are not know for cooking, but in a restaurant I would expect a lot more. It did not make me want to go back for a meal. We were the only ones in the restaurant which did not give me a lot of confidence. I had high hopes because I live in the neighborhood and it is a really cute venue. I hope that they will ask for feedback and improve.

Come here for the AWESOME live music, drinks, laid back atmosphere, and friendly staff. There's also a shelf of board games. Don't come here for the food :( I had a fried fish sandwich and from the first bite, I could tell my tummy wasn't happy. Not sure if it's just way too much oil or what. My buddies had the hush puppies and also said they were way too greasy. Bottom line: the guy performing was SO good I didn't want to leave. So I will definitely be back for that reason, but I'll be on a liquid diet for sure.

We had a great Sunday afternoon listening to the steel drums and having a cold beverage and delicious meal. Yummy! Great family service too!

This is a great place with a wymsical atmosphere. I can only rate it as fair (2 stars) based on the quality of the food. While our mini crab cake appetizer was quite tasty, the Phily Cheesesteak was greasy and salty, and seemed to be made with cheap cold cuts. The turkey club also was quite salty. French fries were fresh and crisp. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Nothing special on the menu. $8 FOR A BLT. No one to greet you. Indide and outside entrances. Kind of confusing. My table was dirty. Didn't bother with the food.

This is a great place to chill out. Good vibe, owners that most recently took over (2015) seem pretty ambitious in terms of running their own place (which suits the atmosphere). No complaints at all about food/drink. I Would personally prefer a bit more of a beer selection but the one's they have are decent. I am going to be a regular.

Worst nachos in St Pete. Draft beer needs to be colder. Wanna be Key West? Make the beers cold. Great atmosphere still though. I wish there was more space in the main outside room. Don't really want to give the food another try. Don't want to be disappointed again. Dare I order the Bloody Mary? Scared.

I got a message from the owner asking us to come in and give it another try because there are new owners. We did not eat this time so this is strictly a service review. I asked the bartender about the beers they had in draft. She had no knowledge of them outside of reading the names off. I was bummed because we came in wanting a local craft beer but with no info on what we were ordering we just got a yuengling then left.

Service sucks. Waitress was very slow and non attentive. Asked for well done fries 3 times and got raw each time. Owner did not respond to any complaint. Sucky restaurant. Will not go back.

I really like this casual neighborhoody feel of this place. The staff is really friendly and I always feel welcomed and appreciated. The food is okay and tends to be bar food but its more of a place to meet up with friends.

Love the decor and was glad to see that it had been left the same since it was Beak's, but the food was not good. Hushpuppies had WAAAY to much "crust" or whatever on the outside and were basically grease balls. Mac & Cheese overcooked and was basically just a few noodles swimming in a pool of salty cheese sauce. The pulled pork consisted of chunks of fat and gristle to the point that I had to pick through it to get to the meat. The fried green tomatoes had a really greasy breading that just fell off, and they were served on top of a curvy stripe of mayonnaise. Everything seemed to be incredibly greasy. The best thing on the plate were the french fries and they were obviously frozen. Definitely not worth $33 for my wife and I.

Great food and drinks! Brunch and bloody mary bar on the weekends! Homemade food and the owners treat everyone like family! One of our favorite spots!!!

Butlers isn't for the epicureans out there, but it is a popular place with the locals due to their friendly staff, the hilariously kitschy decor, their live music and the affordable menu. It's a good place to grab a drink and bump into people you know while snarfing down a burger and fries and listening to hippie-ish jam bands while surrounded by 1950s paint by numbers art, vintage pinups, pink flamingos, Popsicle stick lampshades and retro Florida/beach tchotchkes. The food is just okay, but their quirky vibe and the welcoming and inclusive attitude make them worth checking out if you are in the mood for some comfort food and cheap beer.

I always enjoyed Beak's. Sorry to say, but Old Key West...terrible service and attitude. We were not acknowledged for first 15 minutes there and then waited 40 minutes for two hamburger platters that weren't even prepared the way we asked. We were just getting ready to leave when the platters arrived. I politely mentioned that we were disappointed with the wait, and with a blank stare was told that I could "take them or leave them". One burger wasn't prepared the way requested and both were put together sloppy. Then charged for a soda that was only a glass of water and that had to be corrected...it goes on and on. Not a thing was offered for all the wait and disappointment and when I mentioned it to another person behind the bar...was given another blank stare ...and "sorry". Really? Will absolutely NEVER go back there again.

I want to love this place because it's funky, they have live music, and the employees are funny and nice but the food is just alright. I mean if you like standard bar food it's right up your ally but it's nothing special. They used to serve these amazing tiny potato wedges with manchego and truffle oil but eventually got rid of those too.

This is one of the best places in St Pete for live music, great homemade food and cheap drinks. The pork is excellent!

This is my first time at Butler's Old Key West ...The atmosphere and decor are very similar to the former "Beak's" The prices are lower than Beak's were and the Shrimp and Grits brunch menu item I ordered was good except it was barely warm. Same with the biscuits and sausage gravy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The build your own bloody mary bar was fun and had a decent mix of items for your drink (dolmades being the best/most unique). I'd recommend checking out Butler's Old Key West...especially if you were a fan of Beak's.

GreAt southern comfort food, pulled pork and hush puppies crab cakes and a side of beans. Try the sweet puppies for dessert.

I've always loved the Key West Style Decor of this building, unfortunately, the food has always been Meh. I visited hoping for improvement over the previous tennAt. While the food was improved, it's still nothing to write home about... except the water. The water was amazing. Seriously amazing.

We always love the live music, the owners Lynn and Rex are extremely hospitable, and we've been here many times with great experiences; however, this time was less than mediocre. We received bad service with the server not providing correct food accuracy and forgetting the dressing for one of our salads. Then, we were passed off to another server, never seeing our server again. Dirty plates were not cleared until after we finished dessert. Our second server had no personality and was not hospitable (needs a different job). We will be back, but will ensure not to sit at the inside air conditioned bar area, or with the two individuals with lack of service in the hospitality industry. We've worked with the best and were extremely disappointed for the first time ever at Butler's. ;(

We stopped here because it looked inviting and it was! Vey nice staff. Food was excellent! I got the BLT (BEST bread ever) and my boyfriend got the Philly steak (he loved it). The only reason not five stars - draft beer was warm. Pls. turn up the temperature! Glass was cold and beer fresh but not cold. PLS. TURN IT UP! We will be back and hopefully that will change.

Awful food! Ordered a chicken Philly and baked beans, took one bite of beans that's all I could stomach, sandwich tasted like it was microwaved, just awful took 2 bites but still got charged full amount. Friend with me had chopped chicken he also took 2 bites and could not eat any more, we left and got food at Wendy's. This is the first time I actually had food this bad and felt the need to post a review. Avoid if hungry.
